We aim to reply within a few days. If you're reporting a problem, telling us your device model and iOS version helps enormously.
How to play
Your device is the controller. Tilt forward to roll the sphere away from you, back to bring it toward you, and left or right to steer. There are no on-screen buttons.
The sphere has real weight. It builds momentum on slopes and keeps rolling after you level the device, so plan your stops as carefully as your starts.
Common questions
The sphere drifts when I'm holding the device still
AXIS calibrates to however you're holding your device at the start of each level. If your posture changes mid-game — you sit up, or lie down — open the pause menu and tap Calibrate to set a new neutral position.
The controls feel too twitchy, or too sluggish
Settings has three controls that shape the feel:
- Sensitivity — how far the sphere responds to a given tilt.
- Motion smoothing — raise it to damp small hand tremors, lower it for a more immediate response.
- Invert controls — flips the tilt axes if the default direction feels backwards to you.
Can I play lying down?
Yes. Get comfortable first, then start the level or hit Calibrate — AXIS works from whatever neutral angle you set.
The game runs slowly or feels choppy
Lower Graphics Quality in Settings from High to Medium or Low. Closing other apps running in the background also helps on older devices.
Will I lose my progress?
Progress, times and settings are saved on your device. They survive updates, but deleting the app removes them permanently, and they don't sync between devices.
Accessibility
AXIS includes several options in Settings:
- Colour-blind mode — alternative colours for hazards and goals.
- Large text — bigger interface type.
- Reduce motion — tones down camera and interface movement.
- Left-handed layout — mirrors on-screen controls.
- Guide arrow — an on-screen pointer toward your next objective.
- Haptics — can be switched off entirely.
- Separate music and effects volume, either of which can be silenced.
If an accessibility need isn't covered, please email us — we'd like to hear about it.
Requirements
AXIS requires iOS or iPadOS 17.0 or later and a device with a gyroscope. It runs entirely offline — no account, no internet connection, no ads.
